Bonjour Toulouse

(We went to Ave Champs-Elysees today. The Champs-Elysees was transformed into a giant strip of farmland: the street of 1.2 km were filled with plants and animals. We were tired out by the crowd and the heat, so that we had to come back halfway to the Arc de Triomphe for the flight to Toulouse this afternoon as well.
We are in Toulouse: south of France. We could cook for dinner because each of rooms has a kitchen in this hotel. Every stores has been closed because Monday is holiday and it's the three-day weekend. Only Arabic super market was open, so we bought some meat and vegetables there. Plus we got baguette at the mysterious bakery in a front of hotel. As for seasoning, we used some rare staffs: Italian sea salt with flowers and herbs, white truffle oil , raspberry mustard and so on that we bought in Paris. I first ate a potato called "a sweet potato" and was so surprised at the sweet and tenderness after we just warm up by the microwave.)

Cruising the Seine

(We enjoyed cruising the Seine today in the sun. There are many architectures along the Seine. The sight from the river was different to the sight from the land. I first saw the Tour Eiffel in the daytime and was surprised with the color like brown or gray; complicated construction. Many people was lying down on the concrete along the river for sun bath. I was satisfied at a nice view and the good weather. )

Food in Paris

(It is baguette sandwiches and sweets that I met at Paris as nice and inexpensive food of boulangerie. Honestly, I haven’t had very excellent meal at restaurant. It seems to be preferred here to utilize taste of ingredient itself in cooking. I have been impressive so far that most of meals aren’t so tasty and small for the high-price. On the one hand, raw meal and marine are good. A small Hamburg steak: sunny-side up egg on the7cm pate without sauce and French fried, which I ate today was 16€. I was disappointed that price and flat taste.
In the meantime, Baguette sandwiches are great and low-price. Baguette itself is tasty and fresh; add to this, ham, cheese and vegetable are also fresh. We can find sweets everywhere and every sweet is delicious. There are macaron, cheesecake, tartecake, éclair, chou a la crème, finamnier and etc… We buy and enjoy these sweets every day. The other day, we got macaron at Laduree. That wrapping was very cute!!)

A cute dog

(During dinner at cafe, a dog, Labrador taken at this cafe, was coming up to Marc from behind him for seeking his chicken. We kept ignoring the dog, and then he was fixing chicken under the next table. As the steak have been served to other tables, he was running off. So cute, but is this dog ok?!)

Notre Dame

(We visited Notre Dame. The stained glass was the most beautiful and delicate of all churches I have ever seen. Well, every restaurants and souvenir shops around this church was alive with tourist and seemed to be just the sight seeing spot. Notre Dame stands on the Cite island in Seine River. The sight from this island was very wonderful and I'd like to see for a long time with sitting on the bench.
And,we often see people drinking espresso and tried like parisienne and paririen.)

Cheateau de Versailles(written by マルク)

Today was our second day in Paris. Earlier this week, we had bought tickets to visit Chateau de Versailles. We decided to visit this one today, as the weather forecasts looked nice and I had a day off. We were very surprised once we saw the magnificent gold-plated gates that surround the main entrance. There were about a dozen of tour groups, many of them were Asian.
Upon entering the main palace, we were guided though gorgeous rooms filled with paintings which were all a few hundred years old. Absolutely amazing. Versailles is arguably the most beautiful palace in the world, built to represent the greatness of Le Roi Lumiere: Louis XIV. A few words couldn’t describe the splendor of the rooms! We proceeded with the visit and arrived to the King’s apartments. I was very surprised by the rather small sizes of the beds; keep in mind that 300 years ago, people were much smaller than before, hence the smaller beds!
After the palace tour, we enjoyed the remaining of the afternoon outside, in the luxurious gardens surrounding Versailles. On the far end of the estate, we visited smaller palaces called Trianon and Petit Trianon, which were used as secondary houses and where Marie-Antoinette lived.  During part of the afternoon, the various fountains in the gardens were turned on and we enjoyed it very much.
After spending an afternoon walking under the sun, we were absolutely tired and needed a break. We stopped for a beer at a cute café on the estate then we were on our way back to the hotel shortly after.  We really wanted to eat ramen noodles after seeing a few Japanese restaurants nearby the hotel; we found a good looking restaurant and enjoyed some ramen, gyoza and katsu dom…  All in all, a fabulous day in Paris!!!

Hello Paris

(We came to Paris for Marc's business. We will spend in France until Jun 7th. There are many pleasures, but also were difficulties in extension of job. It must have been hard for him to change and get new flights, reserve the hotel and a rental car, buy contact lenses and confirm his job at airfrance while working. I appreciate his hard work...
It's first time for me to come to France. Our rental car is, of course "Peugeot": a manual car. There are few automatic cars here. The road from the airport was so busy as if it were in Vietnam. I was surprised because my image about France was very different to reality that we could see mixed various races: Black, Arabian, Indian and Asian from the car window.
We enjoyed salmon at casual French restaurant for dinner. The day isn't drawing until past 10pm. We were walking as forget about time with looking illuminated architectures along the Seine River. Architectures illuminated was amazingly romanticl and I could understand people's feeling who say"I love Paris". )
